Rhinelander District Library Foundation Honors Outgoing President

The Rhinelander District Library Foundation celebrated its outgoing leader Tuesday.

The Rhinelander District Library Foundation is undergoing a leadership change. 

Former foundation president Linda Davidson has stepped down after 17 years.  She says she’s seen the library through some big changes. 

“When I came on board, we were in the middle of doing the fundraising for the computerization of the library.  Everybody recognized that we really did need these computers in the library.  And from there we added the new parking lot, the HVAC system, we did the lighting in the library.”

Rhinelander Festival to Dig Up Potato History

A new festival plans to highlight the local history of potato growing.

A new festival is coming to Rhinelander later this summer.

"Potato Fest" celebrates northern and central Wisconsin's industry and research facilities.  A member of the organizing committee, Dan Kuzlik says Potato Fest will be August 31.

Eagle River Trustees Hope to Double Library Size

The public will soon have a chance to see the Olson Library Expansion project in Eagle River. 

Trustee Phil Jensen says they've known for a longtime that that they've outgrown the facility. Six years ago they had plans for an upgrade, but the recession halted those plans. Now they've hired Northwoods designer and builder Jeff Visner and they have new plans:

School Of Arts At Rhinelander Celebrates 50 years

Rhinelander Has Badger 5 Winner

 


Someone who bought a Wisconsin Lottery Badger 5 ticket in Rhinelander is wealthier today.


The state lottery office reports a Badger 5 ticket sold at Trig's Food and Drug won $293,000 dollars in Wednesday night's drawing.


The ticket holder has 180 days to claim the prize. Badger 5 is a one dollar daily lotto game with jackpots starting at $10,000 and grow a minimum of one-thousand dollars a day. Players win the rolling jackpot by matching their five numbers to the five winning numbers drawn each night.
