A Weston man has been bound over in Oneida county as part of a large police sting operation concerning on-line sex solicitation of minors.
Dubbed "Operation Aegis", police arrested 24 men earlier this month around Wisconsin, with two arrests in Rhinelander. 38 year old Paul Loucks was charged with alleged Child Enticement and Use of A Computer to Facilitate a sex crime. Also arrested in Rhinelander was 37 year old Ted J. Wasson of Rhinelander.
The Republican candidate for state Treasurer says he will do the same thing other candidates have said about the job. He wants to win the election so the voters can eliminate the job. 36 year old Matt Adamczyk of Wauwatosa....

Oneida county has put 272 acres of land up west of Rhinelander up for bids.
The Heal Creek property is on the east side the Northwood Golf Course, owned by the city of Rhinelander. At one time the county invested more than $500,000 in developing what was called a 'green' industrial park, designed for light manufacturing. The park never got off the ground, and earlier this year the county board decided to sell the property.
A group advocating the strengthening of Social Security and Medicare says Wednesday's announcement of a small increase in cost of living benefits signals trouble for Seniors.
The Social Security Administration announced a 1.7 percent cost of living adjustment. The National Committee To Preserve Social Security and Medicare was quick to note the increase falls far short of keeping up with increasing health expenses.

Many schools received substantial hits in revenue.
Rhinelander schools saw their aid drop $565,000 to just over $3 million dollars, the sixth highest percentage drop in the report. Wabeno had the fourth highest percentage drop, though the dollar total was lower, at $41,000. Tomahawk lost nearly $300,000, Many districts not in the Northwoods saw their revenue increase. Three Lakes lost $9.200 and Phelps about $1,500.
