American Diabetes Assoc. en Conference To Focus On Diabetes <p>The 11th Annual Northwoods Diabetes Update Conference is set for Tuesday in Minocqua. The conference is designed for healthcare professionals, but the public is invited to attend sessions beginning at 1 p.m. at no charge. The disease presents itself by not allowing a person to properly digest glucose, causing blood sugar levels to rise. Higher blood sugar levels can cause a number of health-related problems.</p><p>Oneida county numbers show one in nine adults over age 20 has either Type I or Type II diabetes.
