What's unique&nbsp; is&nbsp; all of the students completed the program by taking Nicolet classes&nbsp; held&nbsp; in their high schools. She had been Superintendent of the state Department of Public Instruction prior to coming to Nicolet. She says she loves the school and the Northwoods and enjoyed the work put in by the communities for the college...</p><p></p> Wed, 07 May 2014 20:48:16 +0000 Ken Krall 17993 at Burmaster Says She Will Miss The Northwoods Burmaster To Leave Nicolet College For Maryland Community College <p>Nicolet College President Elizabeth Burmaster told staff at the college&nbsp;Tuesday she has accepted the presidency at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland.</p><p>Burmaster was named president of Nicolet Area Technical College in 2009, succeeding Adrian Lorbetske. Burmaster is a native of Frederick.</p><p>More than 60 applicants applied for the Frederick Community College opening according to the Maryland college's <a href="">website.</a></p><p></p> Tue, 06 May 2014 21:04:03 +0000 Ken Krall 17948 at Burmaster To Leave Nicolet College For Maryland Community College Nicolet College Trustees Consider Possible Transitional Plan <p>The Nicolet College Board of Trustees has begun talking about the process they would take should they need to hire a new president.</p><p>Nicolet College President Libby Burmaster has been listed as a finalist for the president's position at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. She had been a finalist for the presidency of Edgewood College in Madison. Walker Signs Youth Apprenticeship Bill In Rhinelander <p>Governor Scott Walker has signed a bill in Rhinelander that he says will help employers get more skilled workers to companies. Youth Apprenticeship integrates high school-based and work-based learning to instruct students in skills defined by Wisconsin industries. Walker Signs Youth Apprenticeship Bill In Rhinelander Nicolet Board To Consider Possible LRC Remodel Referendum <p>No decision was made, but a work team has recommended a possible referendum involving three projects deemed critical and five other projects at the Nicolet College LRC building.</p><p>The Board of Trustees assembled the team this summer after a proposal arose to use the maximum allowed borrowing authority without a referendum to remodel parts of the Learning Resources Center.
