Jessie joined WXPR in 2003. She feels thrilled to work with such a talented and dedicated group of volunteers and staff, and enjoys meeting and getting to know the supporters that make WXPR possible.

When she’s not at WXPR, she’s reading, camping, skiing, or spending time with her two sons and husband Jay. 

WXPR listeners hear Jessie during fun-drives, weekly on All Things Considered, and occasionally on Morning Edition

Jessie holds a BS in Design from Colorado State University.

We invite you to join us Thanksgiving Day for special programming.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, we pause to express gratitude for the blessings of family, friends and the abundance of our lives. In this spirit, the WXPR staff and volunteers send you our best wishes for the season.

Election day is Tuesday. WXPR will replay local, state and federal candidate forums on Monday, November 7th from 9am until 1pm.

9am- 12th Senate Forum

10am- 34th Assembly Forum

11am- 35th Assembly Forum

12pm- 7th Congressional Forum

WXPR’s Annual Fall Auction and Concert will be held Sunday, November 6th at Holiday Acres Resort in Rhinelander. Silent auction items will be on display starting at 2:00 pm. At 3:00 pm the live auction and music with Bret and Frisk begins. Complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served and admission for the day is $25.00 or $20.00 for WXPR Members. Call WXPR 715-362-6000 to reserve.

This fall, WXPR will cut our on-air fundraiser in half, from ten days to only five! We’re cutting our drive in half so you can enjoy even more of your favorite programs.

Join WXPR Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 PM for Northwoods Café as we feature Heather Innes Celtic singer, who will join us live in studio with traditional and contemporary Scottish and Irish music, both recorded and a cappella selections. Heather is a member of the Celtic group Caim and  performed last week at ArtStart. Tune in or stream Thursday, September 1st, Live at 6PM on WXPR 91.7FM.

Well it’s time to see how they are growing!

Join us for a "WXPR Party Under the Big Top" Saturday, September 10th at Big Top Chautauqua in Washburn, WI.

The beloved house band, The Blue Canvas Orchestra, opens the night with rollicking renditions of some of our favorite songs, illuminated by big screen images. Then author, humorist and host of Tent Show Radio, Michael Perry delivers his hilarious tales of rural Wisconsin life.

The WXPR group will gather before the show in the VIP Tent at 6pm, then move under the Big Top for the performance at 7pm.

ArtStart Rhinelander and WXPR have partnered to bring The Lowest Pair to ArtStart in an intimate, house concert setting. Banjo riffs, timeless folk and country influences, and haunting vocals are what this Minneapolis-based duo, Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee are all about!

Join us at ArtStart in downtown Rhinelander, or tune in to WXPR at 7PM to listen to the live broadcast.

The Wisconsin Primary Election will be held Tuesday, August 9th. WXPR presents a one hour program featuring Congressional, State and local offices.

WXPR's Mackenzie Martin chats with singer songwriter, Krista Detor. Detor will be performing at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts on July 30th.
