Jessie joined WXPR in 2003. She feels thrilled to work with such a talented and dedicated group of volunteers and staff, and enjoys meeting and getting to know the supporters that make WXPR possible. When she’s not at WXPR, she’s reading, camping, skiing, or spending time with her two sons and husband Jay. WXPR listeners hear Jessie on various music shows, during membership drives, weekly on All Things Considered, and occasionally on Morning Edition

We will host our annual listener open house on Thursday, December 4th from 10am -5pm. All are invited to celebrate the season with volunteers and staff. Enjoy holiday goodies, meet on-air hosts and tour the studios.  You can also record a testimonial saying what you like about listening to WXPR.  You know this radio station plays a big part in your life - now is your chance to tell everyone why!  Come by our open house, and take a moment to tell your community why WXPR matters to you.

Happy Holidays!

There’s a structure to NPR newsmagazine programs on WXPR that’s about to change.

NPR news shows are governed by a ‘clock.’ These graphical representations of each hour lay out what happens in a program and when

Whether it’s a newscast, A Writer’s Almanac, Marketplace Morning Report or a report from a community contributor, it happens at a precise time according to the clock.

This clock coordinates between hosts in NPR’s studios in Washington and WXPR’s hosts, so we don’t end up talking over each other.

Listen to Morning Edition while you sip your morning coffee in our new WXPR Diner Mug. Available for a pledge of $120 or more. Thanks!

Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo are described as "real American music at its core and at its best". Join WXPR Blues Friday Host, Dale Zimmerman, Friday, September 5th at 7 P.M. for a one hour feature on “Railroad Blues”.  Blues music belongs to the railroad; the swaying of the train, a lonesome whistle, the clickety-clack of the rails.  If you love blues, and if the visceral sounds of the old stream trains invigorate your imagination and soul, come on board the "Railroad Blues". Choo Choo Ch'Boogie!

The Under the Willow White Pine Concert has been CANCELED for this evening. Unfortunately the band had to cancel their Northwoods tour. Our apologies. Please tune in this evening for three hours of great music with Jeremy Starz on Northwoods Cafe!
