As media evolves, the essential role of public radio is to embrace the qualities that made it invaluable – the smart combination of national perspective and local relevance. Peg is passionate about the mission of public radio to deliver content that enlightens, informs, and inspires while reflecting the community from which it is created. That passion brought her to WXPR as General Manager in January of 2012.
Prior to WXPR, Peg served the public radio mission at Wyoming Public Media for 14 years. There she secured funding to advance a single signal with a handful of outlets into a powerful statewide public media network of services.
Eastern Michigan University and the University of Wyoming are alma maters. Her Bachelor’s degree focused on History and Business Management and Master of Arts is in History. Life-long learning continues through public radio content every day.
Involvement in community initiatives outside WXPR is also important. She is a graduate of the 2013 Leadership Oneida County program, a member of Rotary Club of Rhinelander, and serves with the Rhinelander Northwoods Branch of the American Association of University Women promoting higher education in the region.
When not at the WXPR studios, appreciation for arts and nature are strong life influences through music, photography, writing, fiber arts, and many things canine and outdoors. The Northwoods is a beautiful region to enjoy them all.
