$35,000 Grant To Langlade Co. Humane Society

en.wikipedia.org

The Langlade County Humane Society has picked up a $35,000 grant from Petco Foundation to help improve the group's shelter.

President of the Langlade County Humane Society Board, Bob Zoretich says the grant will help the animals...

"....when volunteers and staff work so hard to take care of the animals for our county and the Northwoods, to be rewarded for all that hard work...."

Zoretich says they will upgrade the shelter's software which will make it easier to keep track of the animals and keep statistics straight. Zoretich says they will also be doing some remodeling, especially in a room where soon-to-be-adopted pets are housed. Zoretich says they're very grateful to the Petco Foundation to help them and the community. He says even with the donation, they have ongoing financial needs and he hopes people continue to contribute. He says the grant was for specific work, but things like food still need public contributions...

"....we're very grateful to get this grant, but we still need to raise money every single month to handle our operating costs and especially to take care of the animals, especially the medical-veterinarian bills, food, etc. Those bills aren't covered...."

The Langlade County shelter is on Clermont Street in Antigo. The Oneida County Humane Society also picked up a grant earlier this year from Petco Foundation.
