57 Enroll In Nicolet Promise For Fall 2017

Nicolet Area Technical College

Last fall, Nicolet College announced the "Nicolet Promise", which enables qualifying Northwoods students to attend the college tuition free starting this fall. At the time, Nicolet President Dr. Richard Nelson said the promise means the Nicolet College Foundation will pick up the entire balance of tuition and fees that remain after state and federal grants have been applied to students accounts.

Nicolet College Foundation Executive Director Heather Schallock says the initial offering has found many takers..

"....the Nicolet Promise is going really well. We're excited to have 57 students enrolled in the Promise. The Nicolet Promise is all about helping students realize their potential and realize that college is possible for them. With the Promise, they are able to receive four consecutive semesters of higher education at Nicolet...."

Schallock says the Nicolet College Foundation fully  supports the program. She calls it innovative, and predicts more two-year colleges will be using this technique to bring students to their campuses. The College Foundation uses private money to provide the students with the funds to fulfill the Nicolet Promise.

More information is at the Nicolet College website.
