ABX Gives Oneida County Full Payment On Loans

WXPR

Plastics barrier manufacturer Advanced Barrier Systems presented the Oneida County Board with a final payment check for more than $2.7 million dollars. The county had helped the Rhinelander firm begin and expand, and the money provides a final payment to state loans.

The company asked Oneida county in 2005 for help in getting money from the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands. Oneida County Economic Development's Executive Director Roger Luce thanked the county board...

"....that pays off all of the debt Oneida County has with the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands. I want you to know you took a great risk..."

Several other entities were involved, including the city of Rhinelander.

ABX partner Kevin Kopplin said the money has enabled them to grow...

".....in 2006-2013, the county supported our initial 30,000 square foot building addition. In 2010, we added another 30,000 square feet of warehousing space, and in 2013 we added 15,000 square feet for our last expansion...."

The firm employs 58 and their products are used in food packaging.
