Adventurer, Author and Producer to Talk About Alaskan Expeditions

An author, adventurer and producer will be in the Northwoods next month to share stories from his experiences in the remote Alaskan wilderness. Wisconsin native James Campbell will focus on his books The Final Frontiersman and Braving It. The books document building a cabin and trapping with his daughter on the Colleen River in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge….

“…we saw lots of grizzly bears, lots of wolves, sheep, musk ox’s, caribou…you name it. Once we got out to the Arctic Ocean, while we were waiting for three days to be picked up by an Inuit boat captain we were on a little sand spit, and there was a very inquisitive polar bear that kept coming around our camp which was a little unnerving.”

Campbell is the co- producer for the documentary series “The Last Alaskans,” that aired last year on the American Planet Channel.

Campbell will be at Conserve School May 10 at 7pm. For more information call (715) 547-1402.
