UPDATE: The performance begins at 7:00 p.m.
The Air National Guard Band of the Midwest is coming to Rhinelander for a performance next Tuesday.
This is a special Concert on the Riverwalk. Through the summer months musical groups, including the Rhinelander Community Band, perform at the bandshell by Trig's store.
Coordinator Jan Leschke says this is a rare musical opportunity...
"....It's been probably 15 years since we had the Wisconsin National Guard band and this is the Air National Guard Band from Peoria, Illinois. They're making a tour through the state of Wisconsin and it's on a Tuesday night instead of Wednesday because of their schedule. We hope we have a good turnout...."
The band features 35 musicians. The concert is free to the public Leschke says listeners are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and a drink. Free popcorn is being provided.
If it rains, the concert will be moved to the Department on Aging building across Trig's parking lot. Leschke says she hopes the public arrives early
