Alzheimer's Task Force In Rhinelander Wednesday

en.wikipedia.org

A key legislative committee looking at Alzheimer's will be in Rhinelander Wednesday afternoon to hear from the public.

The Speaker's Task Force is traveling the state to hear about concerns. State Representative Rob Swearingen of Rhinelander says getting the task force in the north gives people here a chance to be heard...

"....Speaker's Task Force on Alzheimer's and Dementia has been traveling the state this session getting input from all areas of the state, getting input on problems with Alzheimer's patients, dementia patients, or lack thereof. I'm happy they're having this meeting at Nicolet College...."

The demographic profile of the north shows an aging population. One in three seniors will die of Alzheimer's or dementia-related illnesses. Nationalwide, by 2050, costs to take care of patients will exceed $1 trillion.

The hearing will be from 12:30 until 4:00 p.m. at Nicolet College's University Transfer Center Fireside Room.
