Ambitious Fundraising Goal For Rhinelander Catholics

A Northwoods Catholic community has set an ambitious goal to upgrade its school facilities and church.

Nativity Of Our Lord Catholic Community based in Rhinelander is conducting a capital fund drive that they hope brings in $3 million, with a minimum goal of $2 million.

Two churches are under the umbrella of the community, with North Stevens Street and East King Street locations. There are schools at each location.

School Principal Shirley Heise says at the north site on Stevens street, they would like to upgrade security for the office, and developing work  spaces and upgrading parking and infrastructure, including a technology upgrade. At the south site, they want to renovate the gym floor, library, technology infrastructure,  cafeteria and classrooms. The south church site will also see renovations.

Heise says the started the campaign on October 19 and hope to conclude it the weekend of December 6....

"....that is when we hope to have all of our pledges in, we'll know what people have done and we'll know whether we reached our goal. And it's a lofty one. People have faith in our school and our parish, a wonderful faith community as well as we are in a wonderful community. We not only support our school and our parish by doing this, but we bring new life into our community...."

Walsh & Associates Church Fundraising Specialists from Minnesota is consulting on the campaign.
