Another Northwoods Schools Task Force Meeting Possible
The Assembly Speaker's Task Force on Rural Schools has had two meetings to date, including one in Rhinelander. The task force has a way for those interested in the issue to follow what is happening.
Task Force Chair Rob Swearingen from Rhinelander said they recently had their second meeting in Elroy, not far from Wisconsin Dells. Swearingen says they heard similar concerns there as the first session in Rhinelander, but some differences as well. He says they've found a way to let the public know what's going on...
"....the committee got together and decided it would be a good idea to put together a new website specifically on the (task force) is doing. So people can log on to the website and see the testimony that has been submitted is now online...."
He says the task force was scheduled to have four meetings, but another stop will be added along with a likely to return to the Northwoods...
"....and now I'm thinking about adding a fifth one way down in Grant and Iowa counties. The next one should be in Elcho and Antigo, then we're going to move to Pepin, but I want to cover that portion in Grant and Iowa counties. I'm hoping to wrap up these meetings early in February..."
Here's the website.
