Arrests in Wausau, Forest County In Separate Incidents

A teenager was arrested Wednesday in Wausau after police got a tip he could be carrying a loaded gun in his backpack. Wausau Police report the arrest of the 17 year old male.

Police report investigating a burglary January 23 when a 9mm gun and some gaming equipment was stolen from a Wausau residence. Wednesday they got a tip that the teen had the stolen gun at an alternative high school program at Northcentral Technical College. The suspect surrendered without incident. Police allegedly found the loaded weapon in a backpack. The person was taken to the Marathon county jail on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of a dangerous weapon on school ground (felonies), carrying a concealed weapon, and carrying a firearm into a posted facility.

Meanwhile, in Forest county, two busts by the Forest County Drug Task Force has resulted in  arrests concerning several different controlled substances.

Last week the Task Force, K-9 Unit and Laona Police stopped a vehicle in Laona. A Milwaukee man, 32 year old Trymane Fraley was booked after allegedly being found with crack cocaine. The vehicle's driver, 26 Thomas Kabke of Menasha was also arrested for crack cocaine possession. Both men are being held on $10,000 cash bond, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and other charges.

Tuesday, after getting a warrant, police arrested two persons in a house on Highway 55 in Crandon. 27 year old Akil Johnson of Milwaukee and 31 year old Amanda Daniels of Crandon were arrested and have been charged with possession of cocaine and other controlled substances. Both Johnson and Daniels also are being held on $10,000 bond.

Authorities say the investigation continues and other arrests are likely.
