AT&T Donates $5,000 To NTC Promise Program

Northcentral Technical College

AT&T has contributed to a program designed to give qualified Northcentral Technical College students up to four semesters of free tuition.

Director of the NTC Promise Program, Justin Willis says the NTC Promise is aimed at high school seniors, providing them with tuition and academic support once they enroll...

"....after a student's financial aid and scholarships have been applied, if there's a standing balance of tuition, the college then covers that. The other side of the tuition piece, there's academic support with focused tutoring, monthly meetings. There's also community service hours to complete every semester, a way for them to give them back to the community and have some skin in the game...."

The AT&T Aspire program donated $5,000. The NTC Promise program has been around for two years.

Willis says data shows more than 80 percent of the students in the program have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better. The award was announced at the Antigo NTC campus. Willis says if any student is interested in applying to Northcentral Technical College Promise Program to do so. He says they can contact him to make sure they're eligible to apply and get more information at the Wausau campus.
