Authorities Give More Info On LDF Woman's Death

Forest county and Crandon law enforcement officials say the death of a 25 year old Lac du Flambeau woman this week was likely a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Three persons were taken into custody and are facing charges.

Sheriff John Dennee and Crandon Police Chief Dan Packard report said the woman's death appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A coroner earlier this week identified her as 25 year old Savanna Larson.

Authorities were called Wednesday after the report of shots being fired at a residence in Crandon. Three people were taken into custody. Valerie Niemuth, Lawrence Shuman and Robert Johnson, all of Crandon, are facing a variety of charges including felony possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, obstruction and probation violation. A juvenile was also turned over to Forest County Social Services.

Dennee and Packard says the investigation was slowed because of alleged tampering with evidence.
