Bark For Life To Raise Money For American Cancer Society

American Cancer Society Northwoods

A great day of exercise for you and your canine companion will help raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Called "Bark For Life Northwoods", dog owners are encouraged to walk a course at the Rhinelander- Oneida County Airport on August 29.

Local Cancer Society representative Diane Geis Hapka says Bark for Life is a canine component to the 'Relay For Life' fundraiser..

"....what's really nice about this is we get to bring our pets. It's a shorter event. It runs for about three hours. It's a way for us to recognize our care giving quality of our canine companions. We've all lost pets, some to cancer...."

Geis Hapka says in their first year they were the top event in Wisconsin and raised $4,700. Last  year they were the top fundraiser in the Midwest Division Bark For Life. There is a website to find out more information and enroll at Relayforlife. org/ Bark Northwoods.
