Beef-A-Rama Comes To Minocqua For 49th Year
More than 15 thousand people will gather in Minocqua next weekend to pay tribute to.... the beef roast.
For the 49th time, Minocqua merchants say thank you to customers and travelers with "Beef-A-Rama". Initially held in the spring to lure those going fishing, the event moved to the fall and features beef, a parade, crafts, music and demonstrations.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Baltus says the event is a favorite...
"...we do have about 120, 20 lb. beef briskets that are grilled that day and we will make about 5,000 sandwiches and sell them to the public between 11:30 and 4:00 p.m...."
The Saturday afternoon highlight is the "Parade Of Beef"....
"...that is when all the roasters, who have made their beef roasts throughout the day, parade their beef down to Torpy Park and present it to the beef carvers. This year the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile is going to be here and it's going to lead the Parade of Beef downtown..."
The event begins Friday night and runs all day Saturday. The Minocqua Chamber of Commerce website has the itinerary.
