Beef-A-Rama to get Closer Look

Wisconsin.wordpress.com

The Minocqua Town Board wants a closer look at the town’s signature celebration, Beef-A-Rama.

Former Town Chairman Don Gauger admonished the town board Tuesday that the town’s open container law is not being enforced as it should be during the annual fall event. He says it’s leading to problems such as broken glass and vomit on sidewalks.

“You need to reevaluate some of the things that have been taking place. You have really let up on the open container law. When we allow different entities to sell beer out of an open window at an establishment, this isn’t part of an open container law that should ever be allowed at any event.”

Because the matter was not on the agenda the board couldn’t take action or discuss it in length. However, Supervisor Bryan Jennings says he’s “heard some issues,” and says the matter will be discussed at the next board meeting.

Town Chairman Mark Hartzheim says he thought this year’s Beef-A-Rama went “remarkably well.” He says the streets, sidewalks and parks were cleaned by the next morning.
