Boom Lake Log Jam This Weekend

History and entertainment merge this weekend with the launch of the second annual Boom Lake Log Jam in Rhinelander.

The event is held at Hodag Park, on the shore of Boom Lake.

Chamber of Commerce Director Dana DeMet says the idea is to show how logging was done in the past, how it's done now, along  with music, food and family entertainment...

"....it's a three-day festival that features professional lumberjack shows, hands on lumberjack trainings and competitions as well as live music and fun for the entire family throughout the weekend...."

Modern logging equipment will be on display, along with the Gene Shepard Hodag Show, among dozens of activities. There will be a steam train on site as well. Among the musical acts will be Copper Box, Old Pine Road Band, and Raised Reckless.

The event begins Friday night, with main activities on Saturday before wrapping up on Sunday.

The Boom Lake Log Jam received a state marketing grant.

More information can be found on the Chamber's website, explorerhinelander. com or by contacting the chamber.
