Boulder Junction Chamber Rehires Theresa Smith

Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce

Changes are taking place within some Northwoods organizations.

Tuesday, the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce accepted the resignation of Kristin Tichacek as Executive Director. In a letter to Chamber members, Tichacek said she was taking a position as Community and Events Coordinator at the Minocqua Chamber of Commerce. But a familiar name was announced as the new Boulder Junction leader, as long-time Executive Director Theresa Smith agreed to return to lead the Boulder Chamber.

Smith said she turned in her resignation from her current job as Director of the Campanile Center For the Arts in Minocqua.

Smith says she was sad to be leaving Campanile, but very happy to be returning to Boulder Junction...

"....I had no thoughts of leaving Campanile but my heart is in Boulder Junction and after thinking about it a little bit I decided that yes, I would like to go back to the community I care so much about. Craig Mason, who is President of the (Boulder Chamber) board reached out to me and asked if I was interested in coming back to Boulder Junction. I had no thoughts about leaving Campanile, but my heart is in Boulder Junction..."

Boulder Junction Chamber President Craig Mason said the town was happy to have Smith back...

".....you cannot believe the buzz going around town this morning. She is so beloved in this town that it has created quite a stir...."

Smith took the job at Campanile Center For the Arts in Minocqua following the death of long-time Director Woody Woodruff. She had been Boulder Junction Chamber Director for 10 years prior to leaving for Campanile.
