The Lakeland Union High School (LUHS) Board of Education is taking applications to fill the unexpired term of Joe Fahrenbach.
The board treasurer resigned his post April 17 after learning his extended absences from the school district disqualified him from holding that post. His three-year term expires next year.
The district office reports three people have already filed a declaration of candidacy: Billy Fried, Emily Hallstrom and Wade Wentland. Any qualified resident of the Minocqua, Hazelhurst or Lake Tomahawk townships who wants to be considered for the post must fill out an application form and declaration of candidacy.
Forms are available at the district office or will be mailed upon request. Applications are due by Monday, May 16 by 3:30 p.m. at the office of James Bouche’, Principal/District Administrator, 9573 State Hwy. 70 West, Minocqua, WI 54548.
Applicants may make a statement at the board’s Monday, May 23 meeting prior to the board’s decision that night. This meeting will start at 5 p.m.
