Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Looking For Volunteers

en.wikipedia.org

The Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest is looking for volunteers this summer. Opportunities are available for anyone interested in helping take care of our natural resources. Forest spokesperson, Hilary Markin...

“You know, each year we have a variety of volunteer positions open from campground host to cleaning up trails, picking up garbage. You know we have a variety of needs in the forest and we’re always looking for extra to help to get it done.”

Markin says they do their best to match up volunteer interests and skills to the Forest’s needs.

She says they’ll take anyone who wants to help from small children helping their parents, to students, groups, and retired people. Students can earn college credit for volunteering and job hunters can use the volunteer time to boost their resumes.

Those interested in volunteering can go to the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest website and look under “volunteering”.
