Condo Project Passes Minocqua Plan Commission

en.wikipedia.org

Minocqua's Plan Commission Monday moved to the town council next week a proposed 24-unit condominium project on Lake Minocqua.

At stake for the developer, Trygve(Trig)  Solberg, is his $7 million Bay View Waterfront Condominiums to be built just north of the Island.

There have been changes in the building design since it was first proposed, as explained by the developer’s agent, Jimmy Rein, Jr.:

"....what we did was create a separation between two buildings. So now there's a separate 12 unit and a separate 12 unit. Before when we brought this in it was one 24-unit structure..."

The builder has already laid the foundation for a four-plex condominium, needing only  an administrative review permit. The remaining units will require a conditional use permit conducted by Oneida county in  a more involved review process that calls for a public hearing.

The plan commission added  a dozen conditions  to the proposal. They want  to minimize effects on the lake water through storm water management and to conform to county building regulations.

The Minocqua Town Board takes up the condo project next Tuesday. The town board’s recommendation then goes to the county offices, which sets the public hearing for comment. The county board makes the final decision, including any restrictions.
