Crandon Student to Travel Abroad, Accepted at Prestigious Fine Arts School

Jared Moore, son of Tim and Dr. Susan Moore of Crandon has been accepted by Interlochen, Center for the Arts, Boarding Academy. Interlochen is located in north western Lower Michigan. Students study music, theatre, visual arts, film, creative writing and dance, guided by an outstanding faculty and guest artists.

Jared is completing eighth grade at Crandon Middle School. He is a gifted trumpet player and deeply enjoys music. Jared achieved first at State performing a difficult arrangement, ‘Carnival of Venus’. Jared wrote an essay on his experience at Brass State in Stevens Point. His essay was key to his acceptance.

Jared has also attended the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan. He auditioned and was selected to tour Europe with one of their bands. He will tour Poland, Belgium and Germany this summer. The cost of Jared’s tuition to Interlochen is $60,000. The family has started a “Go Fund Me” site and hopes to raise enough money to fulfill Jared’s dreams.
