Crunch Time For Northwoods United Way

northwoodsunitedway.com

It's crunch time for the Northwoods United Way. The drive to raise the money needed fund human service programs in the Northwoods concludes in a few weeks.

Nancy Sattler is the interim Director. She says they are aiming at a $210,000 goal. The United Way serves agencies in Oneida, Vilas and Forest counties.

"....I have been very humbled and proud of our communities because of the giving spirit I have witnessed throughout the years. We live in an area that supports each other through the good times and helps each other out through the bad times. And that's really the spirit of the United Way...."

She says employers are a critical link to help bring in the funds. Many companies work with employees by allowing donations from their checks.

She says the majority of the funds come in during the final weeks of the drive...

"...we're not anywhere we haven't been in years past at this point. We just want to remind everybody that United Way is here and supports agencies in our community and looking for everyone to support us in anyway they can..."

Sattler says they are at about 70 percent of goal.

The Northwoods United Way supports 25 agencies in the three county area. They have an office in Rhinelander and have a website.
