Deadline Nearing To Comment On Crucial DNR Plans

en.wikipedia.org

The DNR is making a last push for public comment on two long term plans to manage conservation and wildlife.

DNR officials say in order to remain eligible for federal funding, they need public input on plans concerning fish and wildlife.

Spokesperson Owen Boyle says public comment will end next Sunday on the two plans...

"....one if a fish and wildlife management plan and that plan is geared mostly toward management of game species, huntable, fishable species. The other is the Wisconsin Wildlife Action Plan and that plan outlines broad approaches to management of mostly non-game species...."

He says these two plans make up the department's vision for the management of Wisconsin's fish, wildlife and habitat management for the next ten years.

Boyle says anyone with an interest in these topics should go to the DNR website and put  "wap 10 year" in the search engine.
