Work has begun on U.S 51 between Woodruff and Arbor Vitae and a Transportation Department spokesperson says the public can get construction updates emailed to you.
The project will reconstruct US 51 from 3rd Avenue to Tuckaway Drive as a five-lane road with two lanes in each direction. The DOT's Kristin McHugh says if you go to the DOT website at 511wi.gov you can find out more information..
"....if you go to the North Central region there's a link to U.S. 51-Woodruff-Arbor Vitae. There's a lot of helpful information, what are we doing, why are we doing it..how long will it take, that kind of thing. But there's a separate feature where you can get updates. We'd like to encourage people who are adjacent to the project or nearby, maybe a business owner to the north or south, they can sign up and we send weekly e-mail updates...."
Once you are on the Project Overview website, there's a tab to click on that says 'get updates'. Work began this month and will conclude in fall 2019. We have a link here.
