Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. Makes Call For Artists

en.wikipedia.org

A call for artists has come from Downtown Rhinelander, Incorporated.

To  raise money for downtown projects each fall, D.R.I. auctions off decorated mini-Hodags which are painted in the spring and displayed at various locations through the summer.

D.R.I. Director Maggie Steffen says they need artists in the region to come forward and transform the mini-Hodags into works of art...

'....a way that businesses, organizations, clubs can own a piece of Rhinelander by having their own HodagLast year we had some mini-Hodags and we're keeping up with that. We carried five over from last year. We're calling artists to paint the Hodags. We'll have five mini's and one large(Hodag) that's going to need some artist's touch..."

Selected applicants receive a small stipend to help pay for art supplies. The artist receives a portion of the sale of the Hodag art sculptures. The deadline to apply is April 4.

More information is available at the Downtown Rhinelander Incorporated offices.
