Election Day--School Leader, Local Races Featured

Wikimedia Commons

It's Wisconsin's Spring election day with only one major contested state race and an abundance of town, municipal and school board elections.

Incumbent State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Evers is challenged by Dr. Lowell Holtz. Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler is unopposed for a 10 year term.

Locally, we asked Oneida County Clerk Tracy Hartman what the turnout might be....

".....back in 2015 we would have had the exact same election, municipal offices up for election, the state Superintendent of Schools was on the ballot. we had a voter turnout of 6, 417, which was 24 percent of our registered voters. Historically speaking they follow the same amount, so we're expecting around a 20 percent turnout...."

We'll have election results tonight on our website, WXPR.org and tomorrow morning on Morning Edition.
