The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Center has a new Executive Director who is a familiar name to area residents.
The Board of Directors has named Kim Emerson as the new director. Emerson joined the Chamber 13 years ago as Events Coordinator.
Emerson says the community is very important to her...
"...this is a wonderful community to work with...the businesses in the area, the visitors to the area. Just being who we are is an important part of what we've done in the past and I look forward to doing in the future...."
Emerson says one of her first jobs will be to find someone to become events coordinator, her former job. She says they want to keep the current events going, but she hopes the new events coordinator will bring some ideas as well....
"...hopefully that person can bring some new ideas as well as some of the ideas I've got going in my mind. There's lots of opportunities that we can work towards to help promote the Eagle River area and help promote the Eagle River area..."
Long time Director Connie Heeg retired several weeks ago.
