Evers Campaign Ad Has Former Secretary Talking About Lincoln Hills

Wisconsin Department of Corrections

The gloves have come off in the election campaign even before Democrats pick a candidate to challenge Governor Scott Walker.

Democrat Tony Evers has released a campaign ad featuring Walker's former Department of Corrections Chief Ed Wall. Wall alleges Walker's staff was aware of the conditions at Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake in Lincoln county long before they admitted it publically.

Here's some audio from the Evers campaign ad on it's You Tube channel...

"....My name is Ed Wall. I was Gov. Scott Walkers cabinet Secretary for the Dept. of Corrections. We put multiple plans in front of Gov. Scott Walker's staff on how to address the issues at Lincoln Hills and they didn't want to deal with it. Scott Walker completely mismanaged the issues at Lincoln Hills. It was strongly suggested to cabinet secretaries that we not create written records. No paper trails..."

Wall is supporting Evers bid to be Governor.

In January Gov. Walker announced the closing of Lincoln Hills and said a number of regional juvenile detention facilities would be built.

Lincoln Hills has been the focus of a federal and other investigations. Several lawsuits have been filed against the state.

We contacted Gov.  Walker's campaign for reaction but have not heard back.
