Experts Gather To Help Public With Their "Final Matters"

Local professionals will speak soon on a topic most people tend to put off: putting their affairs in order before they pass on.

The Oneida County Department on Aging, the Vilas County Commission on Aging and the Caregiver Alliance of the Northwoods are sponsoring the "Final Affairs" seminar November 8 in Rhinelander.

Joel Gottsacker is Assistant Director of Oneida County Department on Aging says the speakers will cover core topics...

"....discussion about funeral planning. Bruce Carlson from Carlson Funeral Home will be there to talk about what kind of plans can be made and how to pay for them. We'll also have Michael Boyd from Boyd Financial Services talking about getting your finances put together. Daniel Scobel talking about trusts. versus wills as there is confusion about what is the best mechanism...."

Colette Zunk from Marshfield Clinic will talk about advanced care planning regarding Power of Attorney and other matters.

Attendees will get a free workbook to use to organize their information for use by loved ones. The program is November 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rouman Cinema on Lincoln Street.There is no charge for the program and refreshments will be served.
