The name of the person found dead inside a vehicle near Phelps has not been released.
The Vilas County Sheriff's Department reports being called about 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning to a crash along Highway 17 in Phelps.
Investigators think the vehicle left the road and went airborne, hit a tree, rolled onto it's side and caught fire.
Emergency crews put out the fire and found one person dead inside the vehicle.
The identity of the victim will be released when relatives are notified.
