One person is dead following a motorcycle crash in Lincoln County on Saturday.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office received a 911 just before 6pm Saturday to report the crash. They say that 51-year-old Phillip A. Mattson of Merrill was traveling on County Road D in the Town of King when his motorcycle left the road and he was thrown off of it.
Both bystanders and a deputy performed CPR on Mattson, but the Lincoln County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene. Mattson was not wearing a helmet at the time and alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash.
This is the second fatal motor vehicle crash in Lincoln County this year.
