The father of a child who died in April in a town of Newbold residence north of Rhinelander is now facing charges along with his wife.
40 year old Trung T. Tran has been charged with Intentionally Neglecting a Child and Physical Abuse/Failure to Prevent Bodily Harm to a Child.
Oneida County Judge Michael Bloom set Tran’s bond at $10,000 cash. Trung Tran will next be in court October 24.
An emergency call April 14 reported 20-month-old Avery J. Edwards was having difficulty breathing. The child was flown to a Marshfield hospital where he died shortly after arrival. Authorities later charged 28 year old Ellen L. Tran, the child's step mother, with first degree reckless homicide
. An autopsy revealed the child allegedly died of blunt force trauma to the head.The child was said to have been in the shower when the incident happened. Ellen Tran's case is moving forward with a court appearance set for October 17.
