Flannery, Rhinelander Wastewater Honored By DNR

Wisconsin DNR

City of Rhinelander residents should know they have one of the top laboratories for helping keeping their water safe from contamination.

The DNR has recognized the Rhinelander Wastewater Treatment Plant and Town of Sullivan Sanitary District as the 2017 Registered Laboratories of the Year. Laboratories for municipal wastewater treatment plants monitor the quality of treated water discharged into the environment assuring that it meets all applicable standards for protecting public health and natural resources.

The DNR recognized Jody Flannery of the Rhinelander facility.

Flannery says she was honored...

"....it was quite an honor. I feel very privileged to be instrumental in providing great water quality and results for the city of Rhinelander...."

DNR Environmental Science Services section chief, Steven Geis  says Flannery's organizational skills and attention to detail were exceptional. He says the DNR field engineer in Rhinelander often uses Flannery as a resource to help other labs in the area.

There are currently 362 laboratories in the state providing  chemistry data to DNR to help protect of the environment.
