Former NOW Leader To Speak About Growing Inequalities In U.S.

A former leader of the National Organization for Women is speaking in the in Northwoods next week.

Judy Goldsmith was President of NOW in the 1980s, and most recently served as Campus Dean and CEO of UW Fond du Lac.

During her time at NOW, Goldsmith worked with Coretta Scott King to organize a commemorative March on Washington in the 1980s…in honor of Martin Luther King Jr’s historic march in 1963.

Her talk scheduled for Martin Luther King Jr Day is titled “Red, White and Broke: Escalating Inequality in America.” 

WXPR’s Natalie Jablonski spoke with Goldsmith about her views on the intersections between race and economic inequality.  

Goldsmith is speaking in Rhinelander at 1 pm Monday at St. Augustine’s Church, and again at 6 pm at the Woodruff Community Center.
