Former Woman of the Year Sentenced For Theft

The former treasurer of the Eagle River Jaycees has been jailed and ordered to pay back all the money she allegedly took from the organization.

Court records indicate Vilas County Circuit Judge Neal Nielsen Wednesday sentenced 38 year old Michelle Albaugh to six months in jail and a number of conditions for the theft of $16,000 from the Eagler River Jaycees. Albaugh also will spend five years on probation.

One of the conditions she must meet is writing a letter of apology to the Jaycees and to have the apology published in the Vilas County News-Review.

Albaugh had been named Eagle River's Woman of the Year in 2013.
