Gas Prices Keep Falling But End Of Drop In Sight

flicker

Gas prices keep falling, but don't expect them to keep falling indefinitely.
That's the word from Triple "A" of Wisconsin's Nick Jarmusz..

".....we track gas prices everyday and the Wisconsin state average has fallen below three dollars a gallon for the first time since Dec. 21 of 2010. These are some....unusually low gas prices...."

So why are the prices dropping so fast?

".....the cost of crude oil. That makes up about two-thirds of the cost of what we pay at the pump as an estimate. We've seen crude oil prices come down about $25 per barrel in the last six months. That's what's driving this downward pressure...."

But Jarmusz says the price bottom is in sight..

"...We don't think we've hit the bottom but we're getting close. We probably won't see another 30 cent per month decrease like we did in October for November. They may go down another five, ten, maybe fifteen cents a gallon between now and the end of the year...."

Jarmusz says by April, prices likely will rise again. The Northwoods average according the website Gas Buddy Dot Come remains above $3.00 a gallon.
