Nonprofits and charities are hoping to have their day of holiday spending attention on Giving Tuesday.
Following Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday…Giving Tuesday hopes to draw a rush of charitable giving, instead of buying.
Nancy Heykes of Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin…says it’s a way to give back to your community.
“Whether it’s making a cash donation through this experiment of the website, or just bringing an extra bag of goods to Goodwill, or benefiting some other nonprofit in the Rhinelander area –we just think it’s a wonderful focus.”
Goodwill says cash donations go toward its employment programs and gift cards for those in need in the community.
It and many other organizations are hoping to draw attention to the day of generosity on social media with the hashtag #GivingTuesday.
