Habitat For Humanity Dedicates Latest Northwoods Home

WXPR

The nineteenth Habitat For Humanity Northwoods home was dedicated Sunday in Rhinelander and a spokesperson says this is a unique home.

Greg and Jennifer Bohn and their two children live in the home on Westhill Drive.

Habitat For Humanity Northwoods Acting President Jim Hohman says the home has some state-of-the-art efficiencies...

"....it has the award for being energy efficient. I also has photovoltaic(solar panels) on the roof, which is a first for us. It's a unique house. The Bohn's should have  almost no utility bill..."

Hohman says another unique feature was the Rhinelander High School Building Trades Class did much of the carpentry work.

Hohman says it is great for a family that can't qualify for a conventional mortgage and be able to build them a conventional home.

Hohman says plans for the next home are on hold. Recent regulation changes means the group needs to secure about $100,000 before they can build the next home, and Hohman says they're not near that figure. He says donations are always welcome.
