Harvest Hoedown this weekend returns for second year

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing are bringing back their fall-themed festival for a second year.

Called the “Harvest Hoedown,” the event will feature live music, line-dancing, horse drawn wagon rides, arts and crafts, baked goods, raffles and a pig roast.

Food pantry Director Guy Hansen says there’s something for everyone…

“We will have off-site parking too which is new this year. We have parking down Pine Grove Road and a shuttle bus so people can park in a nice safe place. We have three different bands this year, so there will be music pretty much all afternoon along with lots of food and wagon rides out to the pumpkin patch…"

Hansen says they’re still looking for volunteers to help out with parking. He says to call the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry to sign up.

The joint event is free and open to the public. All proceeds will be split between the pantry and NATH to benefit their operations.

The Harvest Hoedown is from noon to 6pm, Saturday, October 1st at the Woodpecker Bar and Grill on County Highway K in Rhinelander.
