MINOCQUA – The Lakeland Union High School invites the public to visit the first ever STEAM Night on Monday, May 7 at the high school.

STEAM stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.” The educational approach guides student inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking through exploration, problem solving, collaboration and creativity.

The open house will be held at the LUHS Commons and classrooms from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Attendance is free and open to all ages. Visitors will see the ways the high school has incorporated STEAM into its curriculum. There will be interactive STEAM displays designed for elementary and middle school students, as well as high school age. Student projects will also be on display.

Schneider Electric and Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education program will provide other hands-on activities and demonstrations. Schneider Electric has completed numerous energy conservation infrastructure work costing millions of dollars at the school, including the extensive array of solar panels on the school roof. There will be snacks from the concession stand and raffles. The high school jazz band will also be playing.
