The skeletal remains found near Rhinelander earlier this week have been identified.
The Oneida County Sheriff's office says the remains are Steven Boron of Oneida county. He was 54 years old at the time of his death. Boron was reported as absconding from his probation and parole in May, 2013.
Officials say no foul play is suspected in Boron's death.
The remains were discovered in a wooded area near Lake Julia in the town of Pelican. The Sheriff's department and the Medical Examiner are investigating circumstances surrounding Boron's death.
