The Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center of Iron Mountain will be hosting a wellness fair and an adaptive sports clinic tomorrow. Spokesperson Brad Nelson says over 40 booths and several demonstrations will be available for veterans and the public. He says it’s a chance for injured veterans to explore their options to engage in a more active lifestyle.
“This clinic will feature instructions and demonstrations of various adaptive bicycles and sports chairs. These would allow veterans to participate in sports such as tennis, basketball, rugby lacrosse and more.”
Nelson says chiropractic and farmers market booths will be set up at the fair.
Pre-registration for the fair is encouraged. Anyone who preregisters will have the chance to participate in the sports clinic demos. Registration will also be available at the fair.
The event will be held at the VA’s outdoor pavilion free of charge from 10 am to 2 pm.
