Jobs Numbers Show Gains, Losses Over One Year

en.wikipedia.org

A state economist says a year-long look at the Northwoods economy showed some counties grew jobs, other counties lost jobs.

Beau Gellings in Wausau says Oneida, Lincoln and Price counties saw job gains, while Iron, Langlade and Vilas counties saw job losses. He measured several sectors hires and losses...

"....if you look at fourth-quarter 2014 compared to fourth quarter 2013, this is the net change..."

Gellings looked at the top three business sectors in each county and the bottom three in terms of hiring.

Oneida had the largest gain of 1321 jobs, Lincoln was next at 1131, Price was third at 345 jobs, while Forest also gain 51 jobs over the year.

Vilas county had the areas largest job loss at 266 jobs, followed by Langlade at 188 and Iron county lost 51 jobs over the year.
