Landlords Invited To Find Out About Homeless Programs

Oneida county landlords and property managers are invited to a luncheon meeting May 3 to discuss people who are homeless in the region.

The Northern Wisconsin Initiative to Stop Homelessness...or N*WISH  is hosting the meeting.

Spokesperson Lori Hallas says agencies like Forward Service Corporation offer assistance to people who are struggling to find shelter. She says there are other agencies that also provide rent assistance....

"...what we want to do is provide some information to our area landlords and property managers about the programs and how they work to help people stay housed in our community...."

Hallas says she hopes for a positive future from the meeting...

".....it can help build better and new relationships with landlords. It can provide better insight to programming and what agencies can do for our customers and how our landlords and how the landlord can help with that process...and have the landlords to ask questions or concerns...."

The Lunch & Learn meeting is being held at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reservations are requested by April 26. Lori Hallas is at Forward Service Corporation in Rhinelander. (715-365-7842) (lhallas@fsc-corp.org)
